The parties

Contracts are made between TARUKA LTD, Companies House No. 17431078, and the client named on the quotation. The registered office is 82, Unit A James Carter Road, Mildenhall IP28 7DE.

How a contract starts

A written quotation stays open for thirty days. The contract exists when the client accepts it in writing or instructs a start in writing; work quoted orally shall not be treated as agreed.

Variations

During the work, extra tasks are carried out only against a written variation agreed with the client before the work is done. Verbal requests noted in passing are not performed on that basis.

Price and payment

Prices are quoted in British pounds. Invoices fall due within fourteen days. Late payment attracts statutory charges under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts Act 1998, namely interest and recovery costs at the statutory rates.

Cancellations

An appointment cancelled with at least 48 hours' notice is free of charge. Shorter notice may carry a reasonable charge for the reserved time, communicated before the day.

Confidentiality

Plans, surveys and prices for the client's premises remain confidential and this survives the end of the engagement.

Liability

Liability for breach is capped at the fees paid for the affected job. Indirect and consequential loss is excluded to the extent permitted by law. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Law and disputes

Contracts are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the ordinary courts have jurisdiction. Disputes are raised with the office first, in writing, so they can be examined before they escalate.
